BeerFest returned to Hobart and we were invited along to see what all the fuss was about!

This beer lovers festival travels across the nation and hits Hobart’s waterfront in the midst of summer each year. Featured is over 200 craft beers to sample from around Australia including a great selection of our local brewers plus a few guests from overseas. There’s even plenty if you don’t like beer with cider, wine, and cocktails available as well.

Of course it’s not just brews. Some of our finest food vendors were in attendance including Munchies Street Food, Big Smoke BBQ Food Van and Van Demons.

There were master classes with some of the most knowledgeable in the industry, a comedy tent, and live entertainment featuring crowd favourites Kid Kenobi, The Potbelleez and Phil Jamieson from Grinspoon. Kids weren’t forgotten with a jumping castle and face painting on site.

As a festival I found it incredibly relaxed. There weren’t any long queues and all the stallholders were more than happy to take the time to have a chat about their brews. Things became a bit rowdier later in the evening, I’m told, but that is to be expected!
BeerFest will return to Hobart next summer after touring around the country. Check their website to keep up to date
