I can’t think of anywhere that has divided the palates of Hobart town as greatly as KOMA. Some rave about it proclaiming the stock to be nectar from the gods while others compare it to insipid dish water. I’m one of the ones who loves it, I’ve been a number of times and each bowl has surpassed the last, but should probably throw in a disclaimer that it obviously isn’t to all tastes.

The Duck Ramen was new to the menu since my last visit. What stayed the same was the delicious, complex and full pork broth that really was the hero here. Amazing flavours, I could drink it all day. The noodles are also always excellent being made in house and having the perfect amount of bite and chewiness and the duck itself was crispy and tender in the right places. I felt it a bargain at $15.

It’s not fine dining but it’s packed with flavour and there’s plenty more I’m ever so keen to go back and try.
KOMA Ramen don’t have much of a web presence but they’re located in the CBD on the corner of Bathurst and Elizabeth Streets and open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week.
