Shucked to order and available in a variety of sizes these superb fresh oysters from Bruny Island are a thing of beauty at my favourite weekly market and in the colder months it’s great enjoying them straight from their BBQ swimming in sauce.
A mixed half dozen of Thai with fresh herbs and fish sauce and a classic Kilpatrick with Bruny Island Bacon. There’s never much of a wait and the shuckers are quite happy and enthusiastic to tell you all about their superior oysters which you can take home from the stall or purchase during the week from their retail outlet in Barrack Street. It’s one of the things I love about the Farmgate Market, such excellent produce straight from the farmers presented with care and we’re incredibly lucky to have such access to it!
